Electromagnetism in Point Form

LENZ'S LAW

What is Lenz's Law?

LENZ'S LAW
Lenz's Law states the Magnetic flux generated by an induced current in a closed conducting loop that is placed within a changing Magnetic Flux is opposite to that changing Magnetic Flux.
Lenz's Law states the direction of the induced current of Faraday's Law.

ELECTRIC DIPOLE

What is an Electric Dipole?

ELECTRIC DIPOLE
An Electric Dipole is a pair two isolated opposite charges (+ and -) that exert an electrostatic force on each other.
The Electric Dipole is a common physical phenomenom.

TRIVIA

🔔 QUESTION : As there are Electric Dipoles, can one say there are also Magnetic Dipoles?

💡 Hover or Tap for the ANSWER! 💡

There are no Magnetic Dipoles in nature as magnetic field lines always close in upon themselves and so there are no isolated north or south magnetic poles whereas electric field lines can stretch to infinity allowing for isolated positive and negative charges and poles.

PERMITTIVITY

What is Permittivity?

PERMITTIVITY
Permittivity is the property of a material or free space to conduct electric flux.

PERMEABILITY

What is Permeability?

PERMEABILITY
Permeability is the property of a material or free space to conduct magnetic flux.

AMPERE'S LAW

What is Ampere's Law?

AMPERE'S LAW
Ampère's Law states that the Magnetic Field intensity around a circular path produced by an electric current is proportional to that current passing through the conductor.
A modified Ampère's Law that accounts for a changing Magnetic Flux is one of the four Maxwell's equations that were used to predict the existence of electromagnetic waves.

ELECTRIC FIELD INTENSITY

What is Electric Field Intensity?

ELECTRIC FIELD INTENSITY
Electric Field Intensity can be described as the Electric Potential Difference per unit length between two oppositly charged objects.
The voltage across a capacitor is an example of Electric Field Intensity.
Electric Field Intensity is measured in Volts per metre.

MAGNETIC FIELD INTENSITY

What is Magnetic Field Intensity?

MAGNETIC FIELD INTENSITY
Magnetic Field Intensity can be described as the Magnetic Field strength per unit length generated by the electric current flowing within an Electric Potential Difference.
The magnetic field around a conductor carrying electric current is an example of Magnetic Field Intensity.
Magnetic Field Intensity is measured in Ampere-Turns per metre.

LORENTZ FORCE

What is the Lorentz Force?

LORENTZ FORCE
The Lorentz Force describes the force experienced by a charged particle moving simultaneously within an Electric and Magnetic Field.
The Lorentz Force is written as F=q*(E+ v X B), where all but q are vectors.
