SATELLITES

What is a Satellite?

SATELLITE
A Satellite is any object that orbits the Earth or other planets and stars. Satellites can be natural or they can be artificial satellites made by humans.
Some early satellites launched into orbit were Vanguard III and Explorer VII in 1959, Pioneer 5, Tiros I and Discoverer XIII, all in 1960.
Artificial Satellites orbit the Earth in various orbits and with different periods of revolution.
The moon is a natural satellite of the Earth and the Earth could be considered a natural satellite of the Sun.
