A meteor is a meteoroid that crosses Earth's orbit and enters the atmosphere.

A meteorite is a meteor where some of it survives passing through Earth's atmosphere and hits the Earth's surface.

At the Winter Solstice, Winter begins in the Northern Hemisphere and Summer begins in the Southern Hemisphere.
